Star Trust kicks into gear with £40k charity fundraiser

East Midlands charity Star Trust have raised an incredible £40,060 at a motoring day event with the proceeds going to a range of charities across the region.

The exciting event started with breakfast at Belvoir Castle’s Engine Yard before driving in convoy to PF International Kart Circuit in Grantham. 40+ VIP guests joined the day in their high-performance supercars and were treated to a variety of amazing activities before finishing the day with an auction and a raffle.

The day’s activities included a blindfold course and a RTV reverse challenge with machinery supplied by event sponsor Irelands Farm Machinery as well as a very competitive Go-Kart race on the infamous PFI circuit.

Headline sponsor Ferrari Graypaul provided a series of incredible cars for guests to test drive on the road and local companies; 200 Degrees Coffee, Belvoir Fruit Farms, Gourmazin and FudgedUp offered a selection of treats. Fellow sponsors also included Bold Registrations ltd, Chartwells, Gtechniq, Road Angel, Ryley Wealth Management, and Savills.

“We are absolutely amazed by the generosity at this fundraiser and would like to thank anyone who donated their time and money to help us raise money for the charities in the East Midlands that we hold so dear to our hearts.

“After Covid-19 left us unable to fundraise throughout 2020, it was very important to us that we held a safe, outdoor event to raise money for a decimated charity sector. We believe that the event’s success is a testament to the generosity and kindness of the people in the East Midlands”

A large proportion of the money raised from the day will be shared among Brighter Futures Through Sport based in Nottingham, Leicester Children’s Holidays, Footprints Conductive Education Centre in Nottingham, Money Matters Leicester and The Jon Egging Trust based in Lincolnshire. The remainder will go into the Star Trust funding pot to support future charities that make applications through the Star Trust website.

The Star Trust is an East Midlands-based charity, run by local business owners and entrepreneurs, which supports good causes across the region. Since launching in 2013 the organisation has donated £701,576 to 83 charities.
